It's so pathetic. Tonight he played with his spoon, moving it all around the high chair tray and having a lot of fun with it. He was jabbering while he did it, too, and got mad when he dropped it. I took him in to have them checked and they were fine. My LLL group said that it was probably teething pain, or that there is pressure in his ears and/or sinuses. I'm thinking about taking him to a chiropractor to see about relieving said pressure.
