my home pc is back in bidness. the boot sector on my old hard drive was bad. so it’s now a backup drive. i have a shiny new 80 gb hd AND a combo dvd reader/ cd writer. wheeeeee! of course, now i have to reinstall all of my hardware. oh well.
next up: more ram.

technology is great when you can text hubby w/the grocery list while he’s at the market.

it sucks when you buy a new digital camera but can’t get out & take pictures because of all the rain. and you’re dying to get out and take pics.
and then, even if you could take pictures, you can’t really post them because you can’t resize them and post them because they’re too freakin’ huge AND your pc is in the shop due to a fried hard drive. and you can’t resize them on your laptop because you don’t have the right software AND you’re getting ready to send it in for service due to a USB port issue (no i still haven’t sent it in).
but, since you’re not in class you have plenty of free time to think about all of this. ah, free time.

oh man, i can’t believe the chargers blew it. they just couldn’t hold it against the jets. i don’t blame the lost field goal – i blame marty for not driving further down the field before trying for points (among other errors like drawing a freakin’ penalty for stepping out on the field. hello? stupid. move.).
well, compared to the last few years, it’s nothing to cry over. but to be so close and lose out on a great chance is so. damn. frustrating! gah! GAH!
i had to laugh at our buddy, though, who stomped his charger hat and put it away until next season. he’s still a die-hard fan, just a bit aggravated right now. heh.

my bro-in-law loaned us secondhand lions last night. it’s a great family movie. if you haven’t seen it, we highly recommend it.
as b.i.l. handed it to j, he said, ‘i think you’ll like the way they fish.’ we fell over laughing at the fishing boat scene.
haley joel osment plays a young boy dealing with issues of abandonment and what to believe in after he is suddenly foisted upon his two elderly great-uncles, played by michael caine and robert duvall.
it’s heartwarming and yes, i teared up a few times. j and i plan to immediately add this to our collection and i know it will become well-worn in no time. b.i.l. was right on the money. i wanted to see it when it came out in the theater but time didn’t permit. it will now be part of the favorites collection.
a little trivia: there are some cartoons that walter, the boy, draws as an adult. j and i recognized the style, settling on berkeley breathed from “bloom county” and “outland” fame as the illustrator. i confirmed via a google search. that technique is very distinct.

major computer problems. my windoze pc keeps shutting down, saying it’s dumping the physical memory and says something about “if you recently installed hardware or software.” i haven’t installed anything new and it keeps doing this. when it reboots it can’t find the hard drive half the time. i’m in deep doo doo. norton says there’s a security problem when i run disk doctor, but it can’t fix it when windows is running and it won’t fix it on startup – it only scans without doing the fix. i’m going crazy. it just started tonight. first time i’ve gotten the BSOD since i got the thing 2 or 3 years ago.
i checked all of my connections to make sure something wasn’t loose, but didn’t see anything loose. removed all the dust while i was at it. i hate this shit because i don’t know enough about the hardware – i’m a software gal. merde merde merde!!!!!
