i’m free!

somewhere in my three day weekend, my cough and scratchy throat disappeared. yay! i still have some clogged sinuses though.
i’ve been doing some spring cleaning – halfway through it i realized it’s been at least a couple of weeks since i felt good enough to tackle the house. the kitchen & the mountains of dishes are clean, cabinets rearranged, dining room vacuumed, table cleared off, tons of laundry washed & folded (not put away yet), wedding gifts sorted and put away (yes, they’ve been sitting in the living room). there’s a pile of boxes on the porch to toss, and laundry baskets piled in the bedroom, but MAN this place looks so much better. just don’t look at my desk … yet. :o
somewhere in there i slept late a few days and launched three new blogs. i’m starting some specialized subjects that are close to my heart: a spiritual exploration, depression research, and fishing. quite a collection, huh?
the depression blog is very important to me. about five years ago i was diagnosed with clinical depression and anxiety. it was a such a struggle: i was embarrassed and felt like there was a stigma attached to just admitting what was happening, much less seeking medication and treatment. am i cured? are we ever? i’m not on medication nor going to therapy, but when i get a bit blue, i wonder if it’s sneaking up on me again.
anyway, if you have suffered from clinical depression, have a family member that has, or you just want to contribute, please feel free to leave comments or e-mail me about joining the blog. i’m just getting started, pulling information, reviewing things, and evaluating the information sources out there. i’m no expert; i’m just looking at it from my point of view: what would have been helpful to me back then. there’s a lot of information out there and it can easily be overwhelming, especially when you are already suffering from depression and trying to find out more. (site name suggestions are welcome, too. heh.)

joke time

The real reason that we can’t have the Ten Commandments in a Courthouse!
You cannot post “Thou Shalt Not Steal,” “Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultery” and “Thou Shall Not Lie” in a building full of lawyers, judges and politicians! It creates a hostile work environment.
